Superintendent's Message
Dear District 96 Families,
I am so excited to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year. Whether this is your first year or one of many in District 96, we look forward to learning with you.
District 96 is a great place to learn and grow. We are driven by our District 96 mission of empowering learners through meaningful educational opportunities that reflect the knowledge, skills, and experiences needed for future success as engaged citizens. We know that learning is important work that should be engaging and joyful. We value the communication and connections we have with you over the course of the school year and beyond. Your child’s teacher is your best point of contact. You will also have multiple opportunities to connect with your child’s school principal. Our district office team is available to connect and problem-solve as well. Our work is based on the importance of teamwork aligned to ensure that we meet the needs of every learner.
Our summer has been busy getting ready for this new school year. Hauser students will receive their individual student schedules on August 15. Teacher assignments will be shared with all elementary families on August 18.
Blythe Park families will notice changes with our newly renovated auditorium that is now the school library, music classroom, and performance space. The previous library space is now the school’s art room. Students at Hauser will have new lockers and a newly renovated school auditorium with an improved sound and light system.
Beginning with the new school year, we will offer meals consistent with the National School lunch program meals at all of our schools. You will receive a separate communication about how to preview menus and select payment options for lunches. We hope you try it out!
