Emergency School Closing

 

 

The safety and well being of students and staff members is our top priority. In the case of inclement or threatening weather conditions, we will work with Riverside Brookfield High School, Komarek District 94 and Brookfield District 95 to make timely and thoughtful decisions that support our children, and the stability of the learning community while addressing weather, travel, safety and facilities. We will make every effort to communicate school closing decisions to you the evening before a closing, when possible. If conditions are changing, we will look to make decisions by 6:00 am the day of the closing. We will make efforts to work closely with Riverside Brookfield High School and Riverside Public Works to make the best possible decision. Decisions may include a late arrival, provided weather and road conditions are expected to improve.

If a weather emergency or other type of emergency requires the closing of any school, parents/guardians will receive a SchoolMessenger phone message and email. This cancellation noticed will be posted to the District 96 website as well as our social media pages.

School closing information related to weather issues will be broadcast over several Chicago radio and TV stations. Among the radio and TV stations that will be given this information are:
