8th Grade Class Gift

The Student Council officers are pleased to announce that they have selected to donate all funds collected for the 8th grade class gift to UNICEF.  Hauser students look forward to assisting UNICEF with their goal of providing resources to enable all students to have access to a quality education.  The Student Council hopes that each 8th grader will bring in $10 over the course of five weeks.  Collections will take place from 8:00 am. to 8:35 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as during the lunch periods.  The first collection date will be Tuesday, February 21st. Bi-weekly collections will continue until March 22nd.  Thank you for your support.

Calendar Change

Please note that the Battle of the Grades basketball game that was originally scheduled for Friday, February 3 has been cancelled.  Instead, please join us as the Cougars welcome the Seguin Penguins Special Olympic basketball team on Monday, February 6 at 3:30 p.m.  Admission is $1.00 and concessions will be for sale.  All proceeds will benefit the award-winning Seguin Services and its Special Olympic basketball teams.  Seguin works to integrate, enrich, and empower the lives of people with developmental disabilities and other special needs.

6th Grade Winter Concert 12/1

The 6th Grade Winter Concert will be held on Thursday, December 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Hauser auditorium. The 6th grade band, orchestra, and choir will perform.  All are welcome to attend.  We hope to see you there!

Yearbook Pictures

All students who had their yearbook picture taken should’ve received a proof sheet today in their language arts class.  If your child ordered school pictures, they also should’ve received them today. Pictures can still be ordered at this time.  If you choose to order pictures, please return the completed order form with payment to the Hauser office, or you have the option to order them online.  Please contact Mrs. Westin with any questions at, westins@district96.org or (708)447-3896. You may also contact Lifetouch directly at, (630)910-6800.  If your child was absent on the original picture day, or they need to retake their picture, Lifetouch will be at Hauser again on Tuesday, October 25 from 8 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.  We are encouraging students to have their picture taken before the school day begins.

Rescheduled Soccer Game Schedule

The September 27th game vs Lindop has been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 19th at Harrington Park.

The September 28th game against Albright has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 20th at Harrington Park.

An additional game has been scheduled on Monday, October 3 against Albright at their field.

Soccer Games Cancelled 9/29

Today’s soccer games have been cancelled due to weather conditions.  A make-up date will be communicated as soon as it is determined.  We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your flexibility.

RB’s Altered Timeline for Incoming Freshman

Mrs. Pam Bylsma, Principal of Riverside Brookfield High School, has communicated that academic planning for our 8th graders will begin earlier than usual. RB has been kind enough to provide their calendar information to be included in our District/PTO calendar. Due to the changes they have just implemented, you are advised to change your calendar to reflect these changes:

Wednesday, November 30; 6:30-8:00 p.m. – “We Are RB!” – NO CHANGE
Saturday, December 3, 8:00 a.m. – noon – Placement Exam – RESCHEDULED FROM JANUARY 21, 2012
Saturday, December 10 – Make-up Placement Exam – NEW DATE
Wednesday, January 11, 7:00 p.m. – Incoming Freshman Pre-Registration Night (This may be replacing the event that is listed in our calendar on Wednesday, February 22)
Saturday, January 21, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Freshman Registration – RESCHEDULED FROM MARCH 3, 2012

RB will send letters to the families of all 8th grade students during October to communicate these changes and provide information about RB’s academic planning process. 7th Grade Springfield Trip

Springfield Trip forms are due this Friday, September 23rd. The full payment of $115.00 should be included with the form. Make checks available to Riverside Public Schools.

7th Grade Springfield Trip

A day trip to Springfield is planned for 7th grade students on Wednesday, November 2, 2011.  Students will visit Lincoln’s New Salem, Lincoln’s Tomb and Memorial, and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum.  Complete details will be available soon.

Rainbows at Hauser

The Rainbows program at Hauser will begin on October 15. This program serves students who have experienced loss due to death or divorce. For more information click on the flyer below.
