Good afternoon Hollywood families,

Beginning this year, all students in all grades 3-5 will take the newly created Partnership for Assessment of Readiness of College and Career (PARCC) test. The PARCC test replaces the Illinois Student Achievement Test (ISAT) for grades 3-5. PARCC is now the State's required test to measure student and school progress.

The test will be administered electronically in two parts. A Performance Based Assessment will be given in March, and the End-of-Year Course Assessment will be given sometime between April 27 and May 22. The results from both tests will be combined to determine individual student proficiency level.

All students in grades 3-5 will be tested on English Language Arts/Literacy and Mathematics. A copy of the building testing schedule has been e-mailed out. This schedule impacts all students in grades Kindergarten through 5th as our lunch and specials schedule has been slightly altered. Please note that the lunch period will begin at 11:45 each day during the two weeks. Also, specials will be slightly re-arranged on certain days. Your child will still receive the special they should on a designated day, however, the time that he or she has it may have changed to accommodate testing sessions. I will be discussing this at the February PTA meeting next Friday, February 20th, as well as at Coffee with the Principal on Thursday, February 26th.

Just like the ISAT, parents will receive a copy of test results once they are available from the State. We anticipate individual student reports will be available to parents in fall 2015.
