International Baccalaureate Program
In spring 2009, Dr. Lamberson convened a volunteer parent and staff study group to examine the International Baccalaureate Program as designed and sponsored by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).
International Baccalaureate (IB) is the highest quality educational program offered internationally in 138 countries and 2,816 schools. It is the gold standard of educational programming for students attaining international standards of excellence.
The IB Study Group extensively reviewed the Middle Years Programme – one of three programs offered by the IBO.
The Study Group completed an outstanding report that was presented to the School Board’s Education Committee on January 19, 2010. Members of the Education Committee greatly appreciated the work of the IB Study Group.
At the Ed. Committee’s meeting on April 20, 2010, members discussed the Study Group’s findings. Special attention will be given to discussing possibilities of enhancing world language opportunities at earlier grade levels (before 7th grade) in District 96.
The report of the International Baccalaureate Study Group is below.
