November 30, 2017
Dear District 96 Parents and Guardians,
Here at the end of November, I am thankful for all of you and our valuable partnership. Although Thanksgiving was a week ago, it is still a great time to reflect with gratitude on your work every day. Particularly, I appreciate you joining us at Parent Teacher Conferences and celebrating our Veterans. It is wonderful to see you supporting your children with their daily school work, their involvement in service projects and after school activities that enhance learning opportunities.
As the 2017-2018 school year progresses, I want to share our annual goals linked directly to our Strategic Plan 2016-2021. Each year the Board approves goals that represent components of the broader goals in the Strategic Plan. All the goals are noteworthy. I believe the community continues to be very interested in our next steps of the Master Facility Plan. The plan continues to be developed and we anticipate sharing the details early in 2018. The Master Facility Plan represents a vision for district facilities that support student learning into the next decade. It is important work and we appreciate both the interest and the patience of the community as we integrate your thoughts and opinions with the voices of our children and faculty members. We are excited to have had over 200 parents participate in the facility survey.
Our goals also represent the critical areas of growing and improving the daily learning experiences and opportunities for every child every day. We continue to address new curriculum and learning tools and focus on a welcoming and supportive school climate.
Please click here to access the District Goals 2017-2018 and to view the Strategic Plan 2016-2021. I look forward to reaching out in 2018 to share more about our annual review of the Strategic Plan through a community forum. We will send you more information about that in the weeks ahead.
As always, I continue to look for ways to get to know you and the community better. Please consider joining us at a Board meeting or scheduling a conversation during office hours.
