Early Childhood
Preschool Screening
Riverside School District 96 offers ongoing preschool screenings, throughout the school year,
for children ages three to five years of age, who are residents of District 96. The developmental screenings assess the areas of communication, motor, cognitive, and social-emotional skills to determine if a child has developmental delays and may benefit from special education services prior to kindergarten. If you have concerns about your child’s development you may at any time contact the district. We will request your contact information and send you a packet of information, which you will complete and return to the district office. Included in the packet are Parent Information Sheets, Ages and Stages Developmental Questionnaires, and a speech and language checklist. To begin the preschool screening process, call the office of Special Education and Student Services at 708-447-0706 or email Pam Shaw at [email protected].
