news

In anticipation of inclement weather, we have made the decision to shift to an eLearning day on Friday, January 23. The safety and well being of our students and staff is our top priority as we consider weather, travel, and facilities. An eLearning day, in lieu of an emergency day, allows the curriculum to move forward and does not need to be made up at the end of the school year.

Student devices will be sent home with them today. To review our eLearning plan and student expectations, visit our eLearning page

Students can access their eLearning instruction link on their district device through Seesaw (K-2) or Schoology (3-8). If you have any questions about eLearning instruction, contact your student’s teacher. Please return devices fully charged when school resumes.

Riverside Parks & Recreation will be offering supervised childcare and eLearning support at the Quincy Street Community Center (43 E. Quincy). The cost is $38 for care from 8:00 AM-3:00 PM. Before and after care can be added for an additional cost. Participants can register online or onsite. Call 708.442.7025 or email riversidepr@riverside.il.us with any childcare questions.

After school activities on Thursday, January 22 will continue as scheduled. Friday, January 23 before and after school activities are canceled.

We appreciate your understanding, patience, and flexibility. Stay warm!

Sincerely,

Martha Ryan-Toye

Superintendent of Schools
